Read what some of our regular market-goers are saying about Murray hill Farmers Market!

Meet Sean Manson, Naja Wilson, and Moira Manson!

What are your favorite aspects of the market?

“Local. People. Shopping Small. Beer. Honestly, it’s become our favorite place to shop. We get to know the people who are producing our food. The quality is amazing and the market feels like a community instead of just a transaction. We can spend a few hours browsing, drinking, shopping, and socializing and feel energized instead of exhausted afterwards. And we’ve made friends that we otherwise wouldn’t have. Our daughter has become friends (and unintentional booth helper) with Maddie at Whisk and Whirl and that’s been fantastic to see.”

What brings you back every week?

“Other than shopping local and beer? The relationships, both with the vendors and with knowing where our goods are coming from is a large factor. We look forward to seeing these people every week, asking how they’re doing, and just visiting. Sometimes we don’t buy anything, but we still enjoy the chat. And there’s a better than even chance we’ll buy something the next week.”

What do you buy regularly and from whom?

  • Fresh produce (AND DANK SAUCE) from Chandanko Farms.

  • Lion’s Mane Mushroom Tinctures from Harmony Mushroom Co.

  • Bread from Wandough.

  • Eggs (BLUES are the BEST) and dried chicken feet (for the dog) from Charley at Southern Acre Farm.

  • Sauces (all the kinds) from Sauce by Rose.

  • Goat Cheese from Cartwheel Ranch.

  • Cakes and energy bars from Prema Bakes.

  • And some of the best cookies EVER from Whisk and Whirl.

Any new recent discoveries that you’ve purchased and loved?

“I (Sean) have been recently convinced that I’ll be a better husband if I buy flowers for my wife. So I’ve been getting flowers from Isolabella a lot recently. The beard oil from Vital Acre Farm has been great too!!”

Anything else you’d like to mention?

“This is a market that thrives on social interactions. It is such a small community and those connections are vital. This market has encouraged each of us to meet people, talk to people, and foster relationships that make us better people. We’ve met amazing friends, eaten delicious foods, supported small businesses and it’s been the easiest thing in the world. Everyone should be so lucky to have a local market to frequent and support… and if it happens to be in a great brewery like Fishweir, all the better.”

Thank you Sean, Naja and Moira for being a part of our market family!
